Special Education Service Agency

Confirmed Profile

SESA is a statewide agency that supports Alaskan students with low-incidence disabilities, the categories too rare for a single school district to staff for: autism, deaf and hard of hearing, vision impairment, deafblindness, multiple disabilities and emotional disabilities. It sends specialists to districts across the state, runs the Alaska Autism Resource Center and the Alaska Center for the Blind and Deaf Multidisability program, maintains the Anne Freitag lending library, and provides online learning, webinars and a training catalog for teachers and families.
