Alaska Senior and Disabilities Services, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Unit
The IDD Unit inside Senior and Disabilities Services makes developmental disability eligibility determinations, maintains the Developmental Disabilities Registry and Review, and administers the IDD Waiver and the Individualized Supports Waiver. The Registry is Alaska's statewide waiting list: people found eligible go onto it and wait, and the state draws a limited number off it each year. The unit also approves service requests, gives technical assistance to providers, and oversees the Developmental Disabilities Resource Connection centers.
