Alaska Early Intervention / Infant Learning Program
The Early Intervention/Infant Learning Program is Alaska's IDEA Part C system for children from birth to age three, run as a state office inside Senior and Disabilities Services that awards grants to regional programs covering every part of the state. Services include developmental screening, evaluation, specialized instruction, physical, occupational and speech therapy, home visits, service coordination and transition planning at age three. Alaska's eligibility is broader than many states: a 50 percent delay in one or more areas of development, a diagnosed condition with high probability of delay, or, for a separate at-risk category, two or more documented environmental or biological risk factors.
