AltaPointe is the Act 310 community behavioral health authority for Mobile, Baldwin and Washington counties and one of the largest behavioral health organizations in Alabama. It operates BayPointe children's hospital and residential treatment program, EastPointe hospital, certified community behavioral health clinics for adults and children, federally qualified health centers, a behavioral health crisis center, adult and child residential services and the West Mobile Academy school. Its intellectual and developmental disability division operates in the four northern counties it also serves, Talladega, Clay, Coosa and Randolph, rather than on the Gulf Coast. For Gulf Coast families it is primarily the mental health and crisis system, including for people with co-occurring intellectual disability and mental illness.
