Auburn University Telecare Assessment and Consultation Clinic (TACC)
TACC is an autism assessment clinic opened in December 2024 by Auburn University's College of Education. It provides comprehensive autism spectrum disorder evaluations in person and by telehealth, and helps families coordinate follow-on services such as speech and occupational therapy. It is aimed at low-income families and, through telehealth, at rural families for whom travel to an assessment is the barrier. Families receive a full assessment report they can take to future providers. Outreach is coordinated by Crystal Smith with clinical direction from Professor Vanessa Hinton of the Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and Counseling, and The Arc of Madison County assists with service coordination.
