Coastal Alabama Down Syndrome Society
The Coastal Alabama Down Syndrome Society is the parent-led membership organization for families of people with Down syndrome in the lower counties of southwest Alabama. It provides local resource information, new and expectant parent support including welcome baskets, educational material for every life stage and a curated set of local resources broken out by Mobile County, Baldwin County and surrounding areas. Its largest public event is the annual Coastal Alabama Down Syndrome Buddy Walk. The organization uses person-first language and publishes its own guidance on it.
