First Light Community of Mobile
First Light Community of Mobile runs six shared homes in the historic districts of midtown Mobile where adults with and without intellectual disabilities live together. Founded in 1974 and operated for 48 years as L'Arche Mobile, it took the First Light name as it approached its fiftieth year. It is certified by the Alabama Department of Mental Health as a residential provider. Several community members have lived in the homes since the beginning.
