Goodwill Gulf Coast

Confirmed Profile

Goodwill Gulf Coast is the largest disability employment organization on the Alabama Gulf Coast, built from the 2010s merger of the local Goodwill and Easter Seals affiliates. Its Gordon Smith Campus in Mobile houses the McMaken Opportunity Center, a Work Training Center and AbilityOne janitorial contracts that place people with disabilities in paid federal work in Mobile County, with referrals coming through the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services. The organization also carries forward Easterseals legacy programs, including autism testing and a durable medical equipment reuse project that lends and gives away wheelchairs, walkers and other equipment. Job training, placement, adult education and children and family services run across ten counties, seven in southwest Alabama and three in the Florida panhandle.
