Alabama Council on Developmental Disabilities

Confirmed Profile

ACDD is Alabama's state developmental disabilities council, authorised under the federal Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act and funded by the Administration for Community Living. It is a majority self-advocate and family council that writes a five-year state plan, funds demonstration grants, supports self-advocacy and inclusive community projects, and advocates for policy change. It does not provide direct services; it funds and pushes the system that does. It is administratively housed with the Alabama Department of Mental Health.
