Alabama Department of Mental Health, Region I Community Services
One of five ADMH regional offices that administer developmental disability services on the ground for the Division of Developmental Disabilities. The office reviews waiver applications and level-of-care packets forwarded by support coordinators, manages the regional waiting list, oversees certified providers and 310 Boards in its counties, and is the escalation point for families whose waiver services are not working. The same building also houses ADMH Advocacy Services and Deaf Services staff for the region. It covers 13 of Alabama's 67 counties.
