Special Siblings
Special Siblings runs support group meetings for children and young people who have a sibling with a disability, founded in Birmingham in 2017. Meetings include a circle support segment in which participants share experiences, and cover coping strategies, self-advocacy, bullying and self-care. Participation has ranged from school-age children through graduate students, and the organization has expanded beyond Birmingham to the Raleigh, North Carolina area.
