State of Alabama Independent Living Service (SAIL)
SAIL is the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services program that helps Alabamians with significant disabilities live independently rather than in an institution. It has four tracks: a homebound service, community support, home and community-based waiver services, and a SAIL/VR hybrid for people pursuing employment. Services include in-home education and counseling, attendant care, training, and medical and vocational supports delivered at home, school, work and in the community. SAIL operates seven regional offices.
