UAB Civitan-Sparks Clinics
The Civitan-Sparks Clinics are the developmental-behavioral pediatrics service of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and have provided developmental evaluation for more than 45 years. They run developmental diagnostic clinics, a pediatric primary care clinic, and a dental clinic that provides sensitive dental care for children with disabilities. Specialized programs include PEERS social skills training, Early Head Start and the Lifespan Down Syndrome Program. The state's own autism resource guide records evaluation for children from 12 months to 18 years, with financial assistance offered for uninsured children.
