Alabama's Early Intervention System

Confirmed Profile

Alabama's Early Intervention System is the state's IDEA Part C program for infants and toddlers from birth to age three with developmental delays or diagnosed conditions, and their families. The Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services is the lead agency. A family who calls Child Find is assigned a service coordinator and an evaluation is arranged, which can take place at home or at day care; services are then delivered in the child's natural environment under an Individualized Family Service Plan. The system operates through seven district offices and a network of contracted early intervention programs.
