First Connections (Arkansas IDEA Part C Early Intervention)

Confirmed Profile

First Connections is Arkansas's IDEA Part C early intervention program for children from birth to their third birthday who have a developmental delay or a diagnosed condition likely to lead to one. A service coordinator works with the family to write an Individualised Family Service Plan, and developmental supports and therapies are delivered in the home or in the child's everyday community settings rather than in a clinic wherever possible. Services are delivered by a statewide network of approved provider agencies and individual practitioners, each of which covers a named set of counties. Anyone can refer a child, including a parent, and there is no income test to be evaluated.
