Arkansas Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD)
GCDD is Arkansas's state council on developmental disabilities under the federal DD Act. Its members are people with disabilities, family members, advocates, state agency representatives and provider representatives, and its job is to identify what Arkansans with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families most need and then to fund and carry out work on advocacy, capacity building and systems change. It runs the Reaching My Own Greatness self-determination curriculum and the Self-Determination: Our Life, Our Way conferences, funds projects through a five-year state plan, and works on ABLE accounts, civic engagement, competitive integrated employment, emergency preparedness and the PASSE system. GCDD is one of the three partners in the Arkansas DD Network alongside Disability Rights Arkansas and the UCEDD.
