First Place AZ
First Place AZ developed and operates First Place-Phoenix, a purpose-built apartment community in midtown Phoenix for adults with autism, Down syndrome and other neurodevelopmental disabilities, together with the two-year residential First Place Transition Academy for people eighteen and over. It states plainly that it is not a group home and not a licensed congregate care or assisted living facility. Alongside the property it runs the First Place Global Leadership Institute, which works on housing and community policy well beyond Arizona. Residency and the academy are private pay, with scholarship information published separately.
