Humboldt Community Access and Resource Center supports people with disabilities in Humboldt County by connecting them to opportunities and creating programs for learning, living and employment. Incorporated in 1955 by parents seeking an alternative to institutionalization for their children with developmental disabilities, HCAR now offers Bay Center day services, the Canvas and Clay Studio, comprehensive career services, clinical services, respite services and support for the Self-Determination Program.
