California State Independent Living Council
CalSILC is the independent state council required by Title VII of the Rehabilitation Act. It writes the State Plan for Independent Living jointly with the Department of Rehabilitation, monitors how the plan is carried out, and advises on independent living policy in California. A majority of its members are people with disabilities. It does not provide direct services.
