Deaf Counseling Advocacy & Referral Agency
DCARA is one of the first Deaf-run nonprofits in the United States, based in San Leandro and serving Deaf, DeafBlind, hard of hearing and late-deafened people across fourteen counties of northwestern California and the Bay Area. It works through four departments: community empowerment services, employment services, youth and family services, and interpreting services. Staff are Deaf and services are delivered in American Sign Language.
