Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center
Rancho Los Amigos in Downey is the rehabilitation hospital of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services and one of the most significant rehabilitation centers in the United States for spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke and amputation. Its work on gait analysis, wheelchair seating and assistive technology is nationally referenced, and it runs the Center for Applied Rehabilitation Technology. It serves patients regardless of ability to pay as part of the county safety net.
