San Diego Regional Center

Confirmed Profile

San Diego Regional Center is one of California's 21 regional centers: a private nonprofit corporation under contract to the Department of Developmental Services that determines eligibility under the Lanterman Act and then plans, purchases and coordinates services for everyone in its catchment who has a developmental disability. It runs intake and diagnosis, assigns a service coordinator, writes the Individual Program Plan for people three and older and the Individualized Family Service Plan for infants and toddlers in Early Start, and vendorises and pays the local providers who deliver day programs, supported living, residential care, respite, behavior services, employment supports and transport. It serves Imperial and San Diego counties. There is no charge for eligibility assessment and most services are free regardless of income.
