The Arc - Jefferson, Clear Creek & Gilpin Counties
This Arc chapter covers Jefferson, Clear Creek and Gilpin counties from an office in Lakewood and marked its 65th year recently. It runs child and family advocacy, teen and young adult advocacy and adult advocacy, and publishes an unusually detailed set of plain-language guides covering Health First Colorado, Community First Choice, the children's and adult HCBS waivers, special education and IEPs, guardianship and its alternatives, mandatory reporting, Social Security, future planning and Colorado ABLE accounts. It also runs People First and Speaking For Ourselves self-advocacy groups and a Coffee House.
