211 Connecticut is the statewide information and referral service, operated by United Way of Connecticut under contract with the state. It is a single free, confidential contact point, by phone, text and web, for help with housing, food, utilities, health care, child care, crisis services and disability services. Its 211 Child Care line is the state's referral service for child care and for the Care 4 Kids subsidy, and its database is the underlying source for many Connecticut service directories.
