DSS is Connecticut's single state Medicaid agency and the department that runs HUSKY Health, SNAP, cash assistance, the Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders, the Acquired Brain Injury waivers, the Personal Care Assistance waiver and Money Follows the Person. For families of people with disabilities it is the agency that decides Medicaid eligibility, which in turn gates almost every DDS funded service.
