Disability Rights Connecticut

Confirmed Profile

Disability Rights Connecticut is the federally designated protection and advocacy agency for the state, carrying the P&A, Client Assistance Program and PAIMI mandates. It provides legal advocacy and representation to people with disabilities on abuse and neglect, special education, community integration, voting access, employment and access to services, investigates allegations of abuse and neglect in facilities, and litigates systemic cases. It is an independent nonprofit; Connecticut moved the P&A function out of state government when the Office of Protection and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities was abolished.
