Hospital for Special Care
Hospital for Special Care in New Britain is one of the few independent long term acute care hospitals in the United States that serves both adults and children. It runs inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, pulmonary and neuromuscular conditions, a large ventilator dependent program, and the Autism Center, which provides diagnostic evaluation, behavioral health and medical care for children and adults on the autism spectrum who are often turned away elsewhere.
