DC Developmental Disabilities Council
The DC Developmental Disabilities Council is the District's federally mandated State Council on Developmental Disabilities under the DD Act. It is a majority self-advocate and family body that writes a five-year state plan, makes grants to community organizations, holds public hearings and pushes for policy change on employment, housing, education, health and community living. It does not provide direct services. It is one of the District's three DD Act partners, alongside the Georgetown UCEDD and the protection and advocacy agency at University Legal Services.
