Special Olympics International is the global headquarters of the Special Olympics movement, created by the Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Foundation. It supports Special Olympics programs in more than 190 countries, sets the rules for competition, and runs global health, education and inclusion initiatives including Healthy Athletes and Unified Champion Schools. It has been headquartered in the District for decades.
