Sunland Center
Sunland Center in Marianna is a state-operated residential community for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, run directly by APD. It provides medical, nursing and dental care, nutritional and dietary services, occupational, physical and speech therapy, and psychological and behavioral services. It is the last facility in Florida still carrying the Sunland name and is still open, which matters because four of the five Sunland centers closed and families often assume this one did too. The Marianna campus also houses Pathways, a 34-bed secure behavioral modification program providing rehabilitation and vocational training.
