Shepherd Center in Atlanta is a private not-for-profit hospital specializing in medical treatment, research and rehabilitation for people with spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, multiple trauma, multiple sclerosis and chronic pain. It runs inpatient and outpatient programs, the Beyond Therapy activity-based program, a Center for Assistive Technologies, adaptive wellness and sports, recreation therapy, a concussion clinic, ventilator and respiratory services, the SHARE Military Initiative for veterans and service members, and a large research operation. It draws patients from across the country, not only Georgia.
