Georgia DD Planning Lists (the NOW/COMP waiting list)

Confirmed Profile

Georgia calls its developmental disability waiver waiting list the planning list. People who apply and are found pre-eligible for NOW or COMP but cannot be funded go onto it, and DBHDD prioritizes by assessed need rather than by how long someone has waited. It is one of the longest waits in the country. The last monthly planning list DBHDD published on its own site is dated 1 February 2022 and shows 7,095 people waiting statewide, 7,016 for NOW and 79 for COMP. More recent state figures put it at over 7,800 as of March 2025 and about 7,200 in August 2026, of whom more than 1,200 were identified as urgently needing services.
