Aloha Independent Living Hawaii
Aloha Independent Living Hawaii is the center for independent living covering Hawaii outside metropolitan Honolulu, which in practice means Hawaii Island, Maui County, Kauai and rural and north-shore Oahu. It began in 2009 on state funding and took on federal Part C independent living funding in 2014 after Hawaii Centers for Independent Living closed. It provides information and referral, independent living skills training, peer support, advocacy and nursing-home transition.
