Northwest Area Education Agency
Northwest Area Education Agency is one of Iowa's nine Area Education Agencies, regional public education service agencies that support local school districts. For families of children with disabilities the AEA is the point of contact for Early ACCESS (IDEA Part C) referral and intake for children under three, and for school-age special education support services including autism and challenging behavior consultation, hearing and vision services, assistive technology, braille and accessible materials, and special education transition planning. AEA services are provided at no cost to families.
