National Federation of the Blind of Idaho
The National Federation of the Blind of Idaho is the state affiliate of the NFB, a membership organization of blind Idahoans that advocates on state policy and runs peer programs. It organizes local chapters, a low-vision and blindness support group, braille transcription, and the Cycle for Independence fundraising bike ride. Members can access the national Tools for Independence program for a free white cane and slate and stylus, and NFB-NEWSLINE audio news. It describes itself in identity-first terms as an organization of blind people rather than a service agency.
