Southwest Idaho Treatment Center (SWITC)
SWITC is Idaho's state-operated facility for people with developmental disabilities and co-occurring maladaptive behaviors who cannot be safely supported in traditional community settings. It is licensed as an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and is operated by the Department of Health and Welfare in Nampa. The state has redefined SWITC as a short-term therapeutic stabilisation and transition facility rather than a long-term residential placement; each client receives an individualised treatment plan from a multidisciplinary team, and the goal is transition to the least restrictive community setting.
