Indiana BDS Contracted Case Management Program
As of August 1, 2026 all Indiana Medicaid waiver case management for the Bureau of Disabilities Services waivers is provided by five contracted companies, selected under a 1915(b)(4) selective contracting authority. Before that date dozens of case management organizations could enroll. People who were already with one of the five kept their case manager; everyone else was automatically reassigned and retains the right to switch among the five. Indiana also maintains a long-standing conflict-free case management policy: a case management organization may not be an approved provider of any other waiver service, its owners may not own or hold a stake in another case management organization or any other waiver service agency, and there may be no financial relationship between the case management agency and the providers it refers to.
