Indiana BDS Waiver Reset

Confirmed Profile

Waiver Reset is Indiana's multi-year redesign of the Bureau of Disabilities Services waivers. BDS, working with the Human Services Research Institute and Aligned Consulting, plans to replace the four current BDS waivers (CIH, Family Supports, Health and Wellness and Traumatic Brain Injury) with a new set of waivers built around a single interRAI assessment, assigned Support Levels and individual supports budgets. Phase 1 is a Youth Waiver for ages 0 to 21 targeted for July 2027; new adult waivers are targeted for 2028. The state says there is no additional funding attached, so the reset is unlikely to end the waiting lists.
