Indiana Community Integration and Habilitation Waiver (CIH)

Confirmed Profile

The CIH Waiver is Indiana's comprehensive Medicaid home and community-based waiver for children and adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism or a related condition who have substantial functional limitations. It funds residential habilitation, day habilitation, structured family caregiving, employment supports and other services as an alternative to an intermediate care facility. It is administered by the FSSA Bureau of Disabilities Services within DDARS. There is no waiting list for the CIH Waiver: a person can only enter by meeting one of the federally approved reserved waiver capacity priority categories, with a funded slot open, and only when DDARS determines other placements are neither appropriate nor available.
