DSNWK works by "planning and supporting a life of dignity, interdependence, and personal satisfaction in the community" for people with disabilities and their caregivers. It covers the 18 counties of northwest Kansas (Cheyenne, Decatur, Ellis, Gove, Graham, Logan, Norton, Osborne, Phillips, Rawlins, Rooks, Russell, Sheridan, Sherman, Smith, Thomas, Trego and Wallace) through programs named ACCESS Transportation, College for Living, Creative Living, Custom Creations, Employment Connections, Health Services, Kid-Link and Service Coordination. It is both the region's CDDO and its largest affiliated provider.
