Maine Pooled Disability Tr
The Maine Pooled Disability Trust is a pooled supplemental needs trust, described on its site as the first in Maine and one of a handful in New England. It is designed so that a person with a disability who receives assets, such as an inheritance, lawsuit settlement proceeds, or a retroactive Social Security lump sum, can retain those assets and still qualify for means-tested benefits including MaineCare (Medicaid) and Supplemental Security Income. The organization publishes enrollment forms, disbursement instructions and examples, and its administrative fees.
