Adaptive Wilderness Within Reach makes adaptive outdoor recreation accessible to people with permanent physical disabilities, focusing on the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and the Superior National Forest. Participants apply for its adaptive adventures, and grant funding has paid for adaptive kayaks, an accessible kayak launch on Birch Lake in Ely, year-round programming and adaptive equipment for participants to use.
