Hope Therapy at Moody Gardens
Hope Therapy is Moody Gardens' rehabilitation program for people with intellectual, cognitive and physical disabilities, opened in January 1986 and inspired by the head-injured son of a Moody Foundation trustee. It offers horticultural therapy to build sensory awareness, motor ability, confidence and employment-ready skills; rehabilitative horseback riding; and vocational training and supported employment that develops job skills and assists with placement, including within Moody Gardens itself. It also hosts the annual adaptive water and land sports festival and the Mardi Gras Ball for Special People.
