Special Olympics Pennsylvania provides year round sports training and competition in Olympic type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Athletes can find local community programs, drop-in sessions and Unified Sports opportunities across the state, and the organization runs statewide competitions including Fall Festival, Winter Games, Indoor Winter Games, Summer Games and softball and golf championships. It describes the goal of these programs as developing physical fitness, courage, joy and friendship among athletes, their families and the community.
