The Foundation for Independence Through Employment runs the South Carolina Assistive Technology Loan Program, which lends up to $30,000 to South Carolina residents with a documented disability, or to a family member or friend applying on their behalf. Loans pay for wheelchairs, motorized scooters, Braille equipment, vehicle modifications and home modifications that support employment and independent living.
