How to get services in Lane County

Most long-term supports are paid for by Medicaid, often through a waiver program. Start with Medicaid, then get on the program that fits. Where a program uses local offices, the office for Lane County is shown.

Start here Oregon Health Plan (OHP, Oregon Medicaid) · Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS)

Apply online (opens in a new tab) · Call (800) 699-9075 · Your local ODHS office, or an Aging and People with Disabilities (APD) or Area Agency on Aging office for long-term care.

Oregon uses SSI rules but makes its own Medicaid decision, so people who get SSI qualify but may need to apply through the ONE system.

People who are aged, blind or have a disability can get OHP Plus through disability-related groups. Children and adults with I/DD can get Medicaid through a CDDP or CIIS waiver, which can use the person's own income.

For children: None by that name. Oregon's CIIS model waivers (Medically Fragile, Medically Involved and Intensive Behavior) do not count family income.

If you work: Employed Persons with Disabilities (EPD): lets working people with disabilities keep Medicaid with higher income and asset limits, sometimes with a cost share.

Steps

  1. Apply online at benefits.oregon.gov, or call 1-800-699-9075.
  2. Say that you have a disability and if you need help at home.
  3. For I/DD services, also contact your county CDDP; they can help with the Medicaid application.
  4. For long-term care, call the ADRC at 1-855-673-2372.
  5. Send any papers ODHS asks for and read your decision letter.
